Description: Assateague Island National Seashore is a protected area known for its Atlantic beaches and for trails that wind through marshland, dunes and pine forest.

What To Do: Discover the Possibilities at Assateague! First-time visitors should stop at the visitor centers to see exhibits and obtain information about the many recreational activities and natural features in the seashore. Seasonally, a wide variety of guided programs can be enjoyed to enhance your visit.

Operating Hours: Maryland District is open year round, 24 hours a day.

Virginia District
Open January-February: 6 am – 6 pm.
March-April: 6 am – 8 pm.
May-September: 5 am – 10 pm.
October: 6 am – 8 pm.
November-December: 6 am – 6 pm.

Fees: Visiting by foot/bicycle is free. For motorcycles and vehicles, fees range from $15 to $40. Click here for complete list of fees.
